Smithsonian Museums
Illustration and poster design
A personal project to create promotional posters for Smithsonian museums in Washington, D.C. The posters have been designed to work independantly or when juxtaposed with each other. Separately, they encapsulate the nature of each museum's collection. Together, altough their style unifies them, they offer differing themes, the first being celestial & mystic, the latter being terrestrial & natural. This speaks of the range of learning available from the Smithsonian institutions, and advertises not only each museum but the Smithsonian as a brand.
Pencil-style portrait
Digital illustration
A sketch-style image based off a provided photograph, created using digital pen and tablet in Photoshop. It was made with a crosshatch stroke and was meant to exaggerate the fragility, serenity, and pivotal yet fleeting nature of the scene that the color photograph doesn't fully capture. Commissioned as a sentimental gift to be appreciated as decorative art.
